2025 Call for Abstracts
Plenary Session Theme: Navigating Digital Transformation in Media, Public Relations, and Advertising
The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) invites submission of abstracts for parallel sessions during the 31st AMIC Annual Conference which will be held from 09 to 11 October 2025. The deadline for submission of abstracts is on 30 June 2025.
Abstracts written in English, Chinese, Hindi, and Marathi may be submitted for the conference.
INITIAL GENERAL THEMES FOR PLENARY AND PARALLEL SESSIONS
These are indicative themes only.
An initial list of plenary and parallel session topics include the following:
- Planning / Managing Digital Transformation of Media, PR and Advertising Companies
- Successful (and Not Too Successful) Digital Transformation of Asian Media Companies
- AI-Driven PR and Advertising: Unlocking New Opportunities for Campaign Success
- Harnessing Digital Transformation to Drive Creative and Innovative Campaign Strategies
- Redefining Communication Competencies: Rewriting the Communication/Journalism Curricula
- Evolution of Journalism Practices in the Digital News Media
- Convergence of Media and Creative Industries
- Media, Information, and Digital Literacy
- Ethical Issues and Concerns in Going Digital
- Regulatory Ecosystem in a Digital Setting
- Updating Communication/Media Research Methods and Tools (e.g., Data Analysis and Online Research)
GUIDELINES ON SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Format
- May be written in English, Chinese, Marathi, or Hindi
- Must have the following parts:
- Title of Paper
- Abstract (maximum of 350 words)
- Keywords (at least five)

Submission
Abstracts sent to personal e-mail addresses of conference organizers and AMIC Officers will not be entertained.
This is a one-time submission. All submitted abstracts are considered final and no revised editions will be accepted.
Deadline for submission
All abstracts must be received by the AMIC Secretariat by 30 June 2025.
Review of abstracts
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by panels of experts.
Decisions on acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to applicants by AMIC Secretariat within two to three weeks from submission.
Criteria for Review
- Relevance to the conference theme
- Originality and innovativeness
- Ability to define topics/issues to be examined or discussed
- Potential to contribute to the advancement of communication /journalism theory,
research and practice - Quality of writing
- Adherence to solid research design and methodology (for research-based papers)
- Ability to identify the study’s limitations (for research-based papers)

NOTE TO ALL AUTHORS
If your abstract is deemed accepted for presentation at the conference, you agree to:
- register for the conference and pay the corresponding registration fee;
- present the highlights of your paper in the designated parallel session;
- inform your co-author/s who are also attending and/or presenting at the conference, to register and pay the conference fee prior to presentation.
Only those who have paid their registration fees are eligible to present at the conference.
- Only authors who present the highlights of their paper at the conference will be given Certificates of Presentation.
- Certificates of Participation will be given to all attendees.
- Only abstracts presented at the conference will be included in the 2025 Book of Abstracts. For more information, please contact AMIC Secretariat at info@amic.asia.

FREE PUBLICATION SERVICES
All abstracts presented at the conference will be included in the AMIC 2025 Book of Abstracts with International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). The 2025 Book of Abstracts will only be published ONLINE after the conference. Printed copies will not be available for distribution.
PUBLICATION IN AMIC CO-OWNED JOURNALS PUBLISHED BY ROUTLEDGE (TAYLOR & FRANCIS)
Authors of papers presented during the conference are encouraged to submit the full papers to either the Asian Journal of Communication (AJC) or Media Asia for possible publication. However, they have to go through the review and approval process adopted by Routledge Taylor & Francis which publishes these journals. AMIC does not guarantee publication.
