2024 Call for Abstracts
Plenary Session Theme: Asia as a (Knowledge) Sharing Society and Internationalization of Higher Education
The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) invites submission of abstracts for parallel sessions during the 30th AMIC Annual Conference which will be held from 24 to 26 September 2024. You may start submitting NOW. The deadline for submission of abstracts is on 30 June 2024.

GUIDELINES ON SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Format
- Should be written in English or Chinese
- Must have the following parts:
- Title of Paper
- Abstract (maximum of 350 words)
- Keywords (at least five)
Submission
Abstracts sent to personal e-mail addresses of conference organizers and AMIC Officers will not be entertained.
This is a one-time submission. All submitted abstracts are considered final and no revised editions will be accepted.
Deadline for submission
Abstracts can now be submitted but the deadline is on 30 June 2024.

Review of abstracts
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by panels of experts.
Decisions on acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to applicants by AMIC Secretariat within two to three weeks from submission. Those whose abstracts are accepted must submit the full conference papers by 31 August 2024. Only those who have submitted full conference papers are eligible to present. Early submission is strongly encouraged.
Criteria for Review
- Relevance to the conference theme
- Originality and innovativeness
- Ability to define topics/issues to be examined or discussed
- Potential to contribute to the advancement of communication /journalism theory, research and practice
- Quality of writing
- Adherence to solid research design and methodology (for research-based papers)
- Ability to identify the study’s limitations (for research-based papers)
GUIDELINES ON SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPERS
Papers will be selected on a competitive basis and all submissions will undergo blind peer review by randomly assigned expert reviewers.
Format
If abstract is approved for presentation, the full paper must be submitted by 31 August 2024. The full paper should adhere to the following requirements:
Language English
Length 5,000-8,000 words (excluding List of References)
Citation American Psychological Association (APA) style
Document Type Microsoft Word or rich text format (RTF)
Font Times New Roman, 12 pts
Criteria for Review
- Extent and appropriateness of literature review
- Quality of writing
- Logical organization of paper
- In-depth and evidence-based analysis and conclusions
- Concrete recommendations for research, policy, and action projects
- Publication-ready
NOTE TO ALL AUTHORS
By submitting your paper, you agree that:
- you will register for the conference and pay the corresponding registration fee;
- present the paper in the designated parallel session;
- if you have co-authors who are also attending and/or presenting at the conference, they, too, must register and pay the conference fee prior to presentation.
Only those who have submitted full papers and have paid their registration fees are eligible to present at the conference.
Only authors present in the conference will be given certificates of presentation.
Only abstracts with full papers presented in the conference will be included in the 2024 Book of Abstracts. For more information, please contact AMIC Secretariat at info@amic.asia.

FREE PUBLICATION SERVICES
All abstracts whose full papers were presented at the conference will be included in the AMIC 2024 Book of Abstracts with International Standard Serial Number (ISSN).
The 2024 Book of Abstracts will only be published ONLINE after the conference. Printed copies will not be available for distribution.
PUBLICATION IN AMIC CO-OWNED JOURNALS PUBLISHED BY ROUTLEDGE (TAYLOR & FRANCIS)
Authors of papers presented during the conference are encouraged to submit the full papers to either the Asian Journal of Communication (AJC) or Media Asia for possible publication. However, they have to go through the review and approval process adopted by Taylor & Francis which publishes these journals. AMIC does not guarantee publication.
