Passing of Prof. Brian Shoesmith
It is with great sadness to inform you that Prof. Brian Shoesmith passed away last January 30. He was in the AMIC board of directors from 1999 to 2005. He was AMIC representative of Australia during that time. He served as media studies and journalism department head of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh from 2006 to 2008.

Reorganizing Media Asia
The peer-reviewed journal Media Asia is transitioning to a new editorial leadership.
Danilo Arao, an associate professor of journalism at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, is currently being phased in as the new editor. He replaces Cherian George, an associate dean of the School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).
