2026 Call for Abstracts
Theme: Public Trust, Public Voice: The Role of Communication in Public Governance
The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) invites abstract submissions for parallel sessions during the 32nd AMIC Annual International Conference which will be held from 05 to 07 November 2026 in Manila, Philippines. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 August 2026.
Abstracts written in English, Chinese, Hindi, and Filipino may be submitted for the conference.

Abstracts/papers can take any of the following typologies: Empirical Research, Case Studies/Best Practices, Policy Analysis, and Theoretical/Conceptual Papers.
GUIDELINES ON SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Format
- May be written in English, Chinese, Hindi, or Filipino
- Must have the following parts:
- Title of Paper
- Abstract (maximum of 350 words)
- Keywords (at least five)

All abstracts must be in MSWord format and uploaded using the official 2026 Abstract Submission Form
Abstracts sent to personal e-mail addresses of conference organizers and AMIC Officers will not be entertained.
This is a one-time submission. All submitted abstracts are considered final and no revised editions will be accepted.
Deadline for submission
All abstracts must be received by the AMIC Secretariat by 15 August 2026.
Review of abstracts
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by panels of experts.
Decisions on acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to applicants by AMIC Secretariat.
Criteria for Abstract Review
- Topic
- Relevance of topic to current and emerging Asian communication/media issues and trends
- Consistency of topic with the conference theme
- Ability to clearly define topics /issue(s) examined and discussed
- Originality and innovativeness of the topic
- Theoretical and conceptual foundation
- Relevance of theories cited or proposed theories
- Clarity of conceptual framework
- Research / program/project design
- Adherence to solid research design and methodology (for research-based papers)
- Coherence, logical flow, and realistic approach (for practice-based papers)
- Clarity of scope and limitations
- Research / program/project results and outcomes
- Evidence-based results
- Ability to contribute to the advancement of Asian communication/media theory, research, and practice
- Technical merit
- Quality of writing
- Appropriateness of language used
- Logical organization of the paper
NOTE TO ALL AUTHORS
If your abstract is deemed accepted for presentation at the conference, you agree to:
- register for the conference and pay the corresponding registration fee;
- present the highlights of your paper in the designated parallel session;
- inform your co-author/s who are also attending and/or presenting at the conference to register and pay the conference fee prior to presentation.
Only those who have paid their registration fees are eligible to present at the conference.
- Only authors who present the highlights of their paper at the conference will be given Certificates of Presentation.
- Certificates of Participation will be given to all attendees.
- Only abstracts presented at the conference will be included in the 2026 Book of Abstracts. For more information, please contact the AMIC Secretariat at info@amic.asia.

PUBLICATION SERVICES
All abstracts presented at the conference will be included in the AMIC 2026 Book of Abstracts with International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). The 2026 Book of Abstracts will only be published ONLINE after the conference. Printed copies will not be available for distribution. Accepted full papers will be published in the 2026 conference proceedings and made available through an open-access format, ensuring broad visibility and unrestricted readership. AMIC shall endeavor to get conference proceedings Scopus-indexed. Authors who plan to publish their work in external journals may indicate this at the time of submission of full papers.
PUBLICATION IN AMIC CO-OWNED JOURNALS PUBLISHED BY ROUTLEDGE TAYLOR & FRANCIS
Authors of papers presented during the conference are encouraged to submit the full papers to either the Asian Journal of Communication (AJC) or Media Asia for possible publication. However, they have to go through the review and approval process adopted by Routledge Taylor & Francis which publishes these journals. AMIC does not guarantee publication.
GUIDELINES ON FULL PAPER
Format
If abstract is approved for presentation, the full paper must be submitted by 30 September 2026. The full paper should adhere to the following requirements:
Language English
Length 5,000-8,000 words (excluding List of References)
Citation American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style
Document Type Microsoft Word or rich text format (RTF)
Font Times New Roman, 12 pts

Full papers must be submitted to info@amic.asia using the same email thread through which the author submitted the original abstract to ensure systematic flow of communications pertaining to abstract submission for the 32nd AMIC Annual Conference. Authors are advised to use ONLY ONE EMAIL ADDRESS when submitting their abstracts to the AMIC Secretariat.
Author Declaration Form
Upon submission, the full paper should be accompanied by a duly filled out and signed Author Declaration Form (attached).
