AMIC 2014 CONFERENCE UPDATE
In this second edition of our Bangkok Diary, we are delighted to update you on the latest developments for the AMIC 2014 conference to be held in Bangkok, Thailand (9th-12th July). Our gracious hosts, the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University, are making all necessary preparations and stand ready to welcome delegates from throughout Asia and beyond.
Extension: Call for Papers
We received a last-minute rush of abstracts, papers and panel proposals prior to the closing date for the Call for Papers. However, several potential presenters have asked if we can extend the deadline to enable them to complete their documentation. To enable those conference delegates, and others, to submit their abstracts and papers to AMIC, we have extended the deadline by two weeks to the 21st April, 2014. Please send your submission to us as soon as possible at conference@amic.org.sg Abstracts already received are now being peer-reviewed and presenters will be advised of the outcomes of the selection process shortly.Hotel bookings now open!
An outstanding room rate package has been negotiated with theChaophya Park Hotel,the conference venue,in Bangkok. A reminder to all AMIC members that the AMIC Annual General Meeting will be held during the conference. Individual, institutional and lifetime AMIC members are invited to attend the AGM on the evening of the 10th July.Highlight opening Forum
Following the conference official opening ceremony (afternoon of 9th July), the highlight AMIC-FES Distinguished Forum will take the theme Towards an e-Asia: is ASEAN ready to join the bandwagon? This session is the keynote agenda-setting conference event and will feature an exciting range of speakers who will ensure a spirited and interesting debate on where South-East Asia’s premier regional grouping, ASEAN, might see itself in the overall e-Asia future.Conference registration
